Imagine tourmaline crystals the same size of soda cans. Now imagine if they are one half pink and one half green. Or yet, with a green rind on the outside, and a pink center: just like a watermelon. From 1972-1974, the Plumbago Mining Corporation had a find with crystals just like the ones you imagined!
This classic ring centers around a 9 x 7 mm, 3.7 carat bi-color from the Dunton Mine. It has been set in 14K yellow gold by Derek Katzenbach. The accent diamonds measure 2.5 mm and weigh .12 tcw.
