May Day Pocket Tourmaline Pendant

May 1: Normally a day that passes with nothing significant happening.

But May 1, of 2011 was different.  On that day, Dennis Durgin, owner/miner of Mt. Marie in Paris, ME found a pocket of tourmalines that are stunning.

This pendant features one of them.  It is a cushion square shape and it measures 10 mm and weighs 4.41 carats.  It was hand faceted by Derek Katzenbach of Farmington, ME.  The mounting is sterling silver with a bezel of 14K yellow gold around the stone.
