Modern X's and O's Amethyst Bracelet

The oval cut amethyst in this bracelet measure 7 x 5 mm and weigh a total of 7.65 total carats.  They were mined at the Saltman Propsect in Sweden, ME from 1988-1990 by the Plumbago Mining Corporation.  The bracelet mounting is 14K yellow gold.

The Saltman Prospect was a fluke; found during construction, this vein of amethyst didn't produce as much as it was hoped.  Amethyst from this find tends to be darker than those stones found at Deer Hill in Stow.
