Plumbago Mountain Slice Earrings
Regular price $860.00
For decades, the Plumbago Mountain complex in Newry was a known tourmaline producer (the Dunton Mine is also located there). Mostly known for the bright green, pink, and watermelon tourmaline, the September 2009 find of darker blue/green tourmaline was a surprise. Just a small amount of tourmaline was found by the mining crew.
The slices in these earrings came from that find. Hand sliced and polished, this pair of slices measure 15 mm x 6 mm and weigh a total of 7.2 carats. The earrings were handcrafted by Scott Lawrence, our bench jeweler, who is from Gorham, ME. They are 14K white gold with accents of 18K yellow gold.
