Plumbago Mountain Tourmaline Ring
In September of 2009, a crew working Plumbago Mountain in Newry found a small series of pockets that yielded gem grade tourmaline. The stone in the center of this three stone ring is from that find.
Measuring 7 mm and weighing just over 1.3 cts, it was faceted by Ben Ashley of Conway, NH. It is accented by Maine Amethyst that measure 5 mm and weigh .95 ctw. They were mined at the Deer Hill mine in Stow, ME from 1967-1971 by Jim Mann.
